Come explore the theology of the Holy Eucharist in this free event series featuring dinner, a reflection from a featured speaker, discussion, and fellowship!  As we break bread together, we will come to better understand the Bread of Life!

The program for each event will be:

JANUARY 20, 2022 | Featured Speaker:  Fr. Brendon Laroche

Fr. Brendon M. Laroche was ordained a priest by His Excellency Bishop John O. Barres in 2015. He is a graduate of DeSales University. He attended the Catholic University of America for graduate studies before leaving to enter St. Charles Borromeo Seminary for priestly formation. Fr. Brendon’s dad, Michael Laroche, is a permanent Deacon for the Diocese of Allentown and grew up in Reading. Fr. Brendon’s mother, Wilhelmina (Petrakovic) Laroche, grew up in Allentown and was a teacher for many years. Fr. Brendon has one younger sister, Veronica Laroche, who is a librarian.

MARCH 31, 2022 | Featured Speaker:  Fr. Philip Maas

Fr. Philip Maas  grew up in Assumption B.V.M. parish, Colesville, and attended St. Michael the Archangel school. He graduated from Allentown Central Catholic High School in 2009 and from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in 2013 with his Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering and a minor in Studio Arts. Following college, he moved to Allentown and, after working for Lutron Electronics in Coopersburg for two years, entered St. Charles Borromeo Seminary, Overbrook where he graduated with an M.A. in Theology. He was ordained a priest on June 5, 2021 by Bishop Alfred Schlert and is currently the Assistant Pastor at Saint Ignatius Loyola in Reading.

APRIL 28, 2022 | Featured Speaker:  Fr. Christopher M. Zelonis
Location:  Holy Ghost Church, 417 Carlton Avenue, Bethlehem, PA 18015

Fr. Zelonis grew up in Schuylkill County and attended Saint Casimir Parish and St. Clair public and Catholic elementary schools.  After graduating from the Nativity Blessed Virgin Mary High School in Pottsville in 1994, Zelonis prepared for the priesthood at St. Charles Borromeo Seminary in Philadelphia. On June 7, 2003, he was ordained by the Most Reverend Edward Cullen, the then bishop of Allentown, at the Cathedral of St. Catharine of Siena in Allentown.  He is currently the Pastor at SS. Peter and Paul Church in Lehighton.
